We are proud to be the only provider of FSC® Certified and PEFC Certified Moulding in North America.
Each product is tracked, through a process called Chain of Custody, from the forest to the ultimate customer. Chain of custody provides independent verification that the forest-based material contained in these products is certified and originates from responsibly managed forests and other controlled sources.
As both a manufacturer and distributor of timber products, Larson-Juhl is committed to being proactive in our relationships with direct manufacturing and 3rd Party suppliers to adhere to a high standard of conduct and responsible sourcing of materials.
Why Buying Certified Products Matter
By purchasing Certified Products, you are helping forests and those who rely on them. Forests are one of the most important resources, offering a renewable supply of the materials and goods we need for a more sustainable future. We provide our consumers with responsible practices and empowering all to buy sustainably.
Zero Deforestation
Trees are harvested responsibly so there is no net loss of forest over time. By nurturing our forests, we can prevent biodiversity loss, and fight climate change. By reversing the mass-clearing of forests, they can be properly identified and maintained.
Fair Work Environment and Community Rights
Workers are provided with proper training and safety protocols while working for the FSC® and PEFC Organizations. Indigenous and local communities are protected, providing over 300 million people food, fuel, medicine, and their livelihoods.
Protecting Plant and Animal Species
Forests host diverse ecosystems that contain terrestrial plant and animal species. Healthy ecosystems allow earth to be habitable for humans. Certified products support the change from preservation to conservation of these species.
A Global Alliance
FSC® currently has over 50,000+ certificate holders and 1,500+ promotional license holders, all supporting the protection of 210+ million certified hectares of forest. PEFC’s 55 national and 29 international certificate holders also support the local advancement of responsible forestry nationwide.
Value of Certification
Larson-Juhl's Certified Products expands the value of certification for both FSC® and PEFC. New solutions are being developed to help businesses work with forests responsibly, maintain and enhance forest value, and accelerate forest recovery.
What is FSC®?
Between the forest and the final user, products may undergo many stages of processing, manufacturing and distribution. FSC Chain-of-Custody certification traces the path of products from forests through the supply chain, verifying that FSC-certified material is identified or kept separated from non-certified material throughout the chain.
What is PEFC?
The PEFC logo on our products ensures that our wood comes from sustainably managed forests, recycled and controlled sources. Every purchase of a PEFC-labelled product makes a difference for forests and forest communities across the world. By sourcing PEFC wood, Larson-Juhl is supporting sustainably managed forests globally.
Larson-Juhl PEFC Chain of Custody Commitment Statement
Certification by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) indicates a commitment to sustainable forest management through independent third-party certification. Purchasers of Larson-Juhl PEFC certified picture frame mouldings should feel good about becoming another link in the chain of custody that is an important part of managing sustainability on our planet. PEFC certified products ensure:
The stewardship and use of forests and forest lands in a way, and at a rate, that maintains their biodiversity, productivity, regeneration capacity, vitality and their potential to fulfil, now and in the future, relevant ecological, economic and social functions, at local, national, and global levels, and that does not cause damage to other ecosystems.
